Dr. Carlos Mayorano is not only the director of Clínica Monserrat Hospital and a full professor at the University of Buenos Aires — his sterling reputation, however, is not enough to stop the suspicions and accusations tarnishing the Hospital and implicating young Dr. Emiliano Past, the most prominent member of his surgical team and the most admired lecturer by his students. The strange disappearance of the bodies of four homeless people is a macabre precedent hard to ignore, and the latest scandal is even worse: a forensic autopsy revealed that the body of a criminal who arrived with a gunshot wound and died in the operating theater was missing both corneas and a kidney. The uproar exploded and, predictably, no one knows the whereabouts of Dr. Past. Dr. Mayorano immediately ordered the surgical ward closed pending investigation, but a group of medical students who do daily rotations at the hospital suspect that nothing is as it seems.
