Marion Crane, a secretary at a company, embezzles $40,000 from a client and flees with the money out of town. Despite the efforts of the private investigator hired by her boss, a week passes without any trace of her. Two days after that the private investigator stops communicating, losing all contact — he, too, seems to have mysteriously disappeared. Worried about the crime your sister committed and her subsequent disappearance, you and a group of close family and friends decide to look for her yourselves, secretly, careful not to make it public, hoping to find Marion before the police do and persuade her to return the money to make amends with the law. Convinced she’s hiding somewhere in the area from which she made her last phone call, you begin searching hotels and guesthouses. Finally you arrive at the last one, the Bates Motel, which shows signs of recent activity, although you can’t find a manager or any staff. The police are also on the trail and will arrive in an hour with a search warrant to enter the premises. What could have happened to Marion? Will you find her before the police arrive?
